How to take direct orders from Instagram
A practical guide for cafés and restaurants in Georgia: prepare the menu, share one ordering link, and decide how your team will handle each order.
Guide prepared on 7 October 2026
A photo of a dish can prompt a question; a clear ordering page lets a guest choose dishes and submit the details you need. Set up this path before inviting customers to use it. Start with the dishes and service area you can reliably offer, then check the whole journey on a phone.
2. Your Instagram link
Open the guest storefront and copy its public address from Promotion → Link and QR code. Add that address in the links area of your restaurant’s Instagram profile. Use a clear link title such as “Menu and orders”, so guests know what opens.
Tap the saved link from another phone. It should open the correct café menu without requiring your owner sign-in. Instagram’s settings can change; check its profile-link help if the option is hard to find. Keep one working destination instead of repeatedly changing the address.

3. Delivery or pickup
In Settings → Delivery and pickup, enable only the methods you actually provide. Set the delivery fee and minimum order; use delivery zones when districts have different conditions. For pickup, give an exact address and usable opening hours.
Decide who transports the order and who contacts the guest if an address is unclear. Shekveta records the chosen method; you arrange the delivery operation. Tell guests the available payment method before they order. Online card payment requires the relevant plan and a configured bank integration.
For example, soup at 12 GEL, tea at 4 GEL and delivery at 5 GEL gives a total of 21 GEL. This is a training example, not a real café’s prices.
4. Accepting orders
Assign a person to watch the Orders tab during service. Open the order, check its items and fulfilment details, choose a realistic preparation time, and press Accept. The guest can see the status and estimated time. Update the status as work progresses; if you cannot fulfil it, decline with a clear reason.
Telegram notifications are optional. Connect the intended chat in settings and use the test-message function before relying on it. Confirm the message in the actual chat. The clip below shows training screens and dashboard acceptance; it does not show a real Telegram message being delivered.

5. A check before launch
Use the training demo first, then make an agreed test order in your own setup. Do not let staff mistake it for a customer order or send a courier accidentally. Check:
- The link opens the right menu on a phone.
- Dish names, prices and availability are correct.
- Delivery conditions, pickup address and hours are clear.
- The cart total matches food, fees and any discount.
- The responsible employee sees and accepts the order.
- The guest sees the status, and configured notifications work.
Change the test conditions if you also offer pickup or several delivery zones. Keep the evidence and fix any confusing step before announcing the ordering link.
6. What to post next
Publish a useful post showing one dish and explaining how to order: “Open our profile, tap Menu and orders, choose delivery or pickup.” Share the same working destination in your own channels. Use photos you own or have permission to use.
Ask actual guests whether the link and checkout were clear. Keep a simple weekly record of questions and completed orders. Treat views as attention, not proof of purchases. Improve the menu, instructions or service conditions based on what people actually struggle with; a link alone does not guarantee demand.
